People´s
Deputies, representatives of the Secretariat of the Council of National
Security and Defense of Ukraine, Ministry of Education and Science, Youth and Sports,
Ministry of Public Health, State Committee of Ukraine on Narcotic Drugs
Control, other central executive authorities, law-enforcement agencies and
judicial bodies, Donetsk Regional State Administration, scholars and
academicians attended the conference.
Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine A.Mohyliov,
Chairman of the Committee on Legislative Support of Law Enforcement V.Shvets, and Chairman of the Committee on Justice S.Kivalov addressed the conference participants.
V.Malyshev, Chairman of the
Sub-Committee on Legislative Support of and Parliamentary Control over Activity
of the Internal Affairs Bodies and other Law Enforcement Agencies presented a
report "Spread of Drug Addiction as a Threat to the National Security of
Ukraine."
Helmut Palder, Senior Official in the
Bavarian State Ministry of Justice, Radnar Schneider,
Senior Prosecutor of Munich, and Gerhard Neuhof,
Vice-President of the Land Court in Ansbach shared
the experience of counteraction to drug-related crimes in the Federal Republic
of Germany.
The conference
participants discussed the following issues: "Prevention of Drug-Related Crimes
as a Strategic Area of Governmental Policy in the Sphere of Counteraction to
the Illegal Turnover of Narcotic Drugs"; "Cooperation between the Police, Law Enforcement
Agencies, Judicial Bodies, and Health Care Establishments on Prevention of and
Counteraction to Drug-Related Crimes"; "Administrative-Legal, Criminal-Legal, Criminological
and Criminalistic Support of Prevention of and Counteraction to Drug-Related
Crimes."
The conference participants visited the Museum of the Internal Affairs
Bodies, and laid flowers to the monument of the police officers killed in the
line of duty.
